5 Common Mistakes When Installing EPS Insulation

Proper installation of EPS insulation is just as important as choosing the right material. Even high-quality insulation may not perform as expected if it is installed incorrectly.

1. The surface is not properly prepared

Walls should be clean, dry, reasonably even and free from loose areas. Installing insulation on an unsuitable surface can reduce adhesion.

2. Too little adhesive is used

The boards must be properly bonded to the wall. Insufficient adhesive can create voids and reduce the stability of the insulation system.

3. Large gaps are left between the boards

The boards should be installed closely together with properly formed joints. Large gaps can create thermal bridges and reduce insulation performance.

4. The boards are not properly mechanically fixed

The anchors should be selected and installed according to the wall substrate and insulation system. Incorrect fixing can affect the stability of the boards.

5. Reinforcement is done incorrectly

The fiberglass mesh and base coat must be installed correctly. Poor reinforcement can lead to cracks and damage to the facade.

An effective insulation system is not only about using good-quality EPS. Proper surface preparation, adhesive application, mechanical fixing, board joints and protective layers are all important. Following the correct installation technology helps create a durable and energy-efficient facade.
